The Personal Finder Search software from Searchingfast.com is deemed as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP). The Personal Finder Search software is reported to arrive on computers via free software bundles in the form of a recommended browser extension. The Personal Finder Search browser extension is known to make modifications to the Internet settings of users and redirect them to Searchingfast.com. Additionally, the extension might modify the default search provider and reroute all search operations to Searchingfast.com and then to a customized version of Yahoo. PC users who have installed the Personal Finder Search extension reported that it changed the new page on Google Chrome to a subpage of Searchingfast.com.
The Personal Finder Search browser extension does not have a valid entry on the Chrome Web Store, the Mozilla Firefox Add-ons platform and the IE gallery. An in-depth analysis unveiled that the Personal Finder Search extension functions similarly to adware and it is observed to redirect users to promoted content whenever they launch a search via the Omnibox (Chrome) and the search bar (Firefox). The people controlling the Searchingfast.com domain may be using the Personal Finder Search software to direct Web traffic to their servers and boost their marketing revenue. Needless to say, that is not an ethical practice, and Web surfers may be redirected to potentially harmful pages. Threat creators and con artists are known to use the services of sites like Searchingfast.com to deliver corrupted ads and open backdoors on remote computers. Keeping the Personal Finder Search software on your system may expose you to ads that lead to phishing messages. The lack of valid credentials, questionable deployment and browser redirects may be enough to convince most users to uninstall the Personal Finder Search extensions and erase the associated files with the help of a reliable security scanner.
