EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

The OWZNA Malware is associated with a low quality website that carries out a known online tactic. Content linked to OWZNA may take over affected Web browsers and force them to display new tabs and windows without any prompting from the computer user. Computer users have reported that OWZNA may affect most versions of Windows, including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows 8. In many cases, security software or advertisement blockers may not detect OWZNA or content linked to OWZNA, making OWZNA difficult to remove.
Unraveling OWZNA
Although computer users may refer to OWZNA mistakenly as 'malware', OWZNA is actually a Potentially Unwanted Program that has adware capabilities. Curiously, one of the reasons why many anti-virus programs may not detect or remove OWZNA is not because OWZNA is too powerful, but because OWZNA is actually not destructive enough to be qualified as threatening. Because of this, OWZNA may be removed manually by using normal uninstallation procedures. However, you need to make sure that no files or changes to your settings remain behind once you have removed OWZNA. These may cause OWZNA to be reinstalled or the appearance of irritating error messages on your computer.
How Can You Notice OWZNA's Presence on Your PC
There are various known problems that may be associated with OWZNA, including the following:
- OWZNA may cause browser redirects, forcing Web browsers to visit websites associated with OWZNA repeatedly.
- OWZNA may cause affected Web browsers to display pop-up windows and advertisements frequently, interrupting the computer users' activities on the affected computer.
- OWZNA may be responsible for performance issues, causing the affected Web browser to become slow, crash frequently and stop responding.
- OWZNA may replace the advertisements on websites you visit with its own sponsored content. OWZNA has been linked to banner advertisements, sliding advertisements, video advertisements, audio advertisements and a large number of other types of suspicious advertising material.
- OWZNA makes unwanted changes to your Web browser's settings; for example, changing its home page, default search engine or new tab websites to URLs affiliated with this PUP.
