If you like to browse untrustworthy websites, you may come across the shady page. This website would attempt to hijack your Web browser notifications to flood you with unwanted and often irrelevant advertisements. Upon visiting the site, users will be required to prove that they are not robots by clicking on the ‘Allow’ button on their screens. Needless to say, this is a fake CAPTCHA, and clicking the button does not serve to prove that you are not a robot. Instead, by clicking on the ‘Allow’ button, you will permit the site to send you push-notifications via your Web browser.

This will become very tiresome quickly because the abuses the permission by bombarding its visitors with countless advertisements. To make matters worse, the website is known to push shady services and overly expensive and sometimes bogus products. This is why malware researchers advise against engaging with any advertisements promoted by the website.

You can disable Web browser notifications sent by the site by revoking the page’s permissions via your Web browser settings. If you want to minimize your chance of coming across a fake site like the page in the future, it is best to stick to browsing reputable, trustworthy websites.
