EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

The Newpoptab.com domain is registered to the 69.64.147.39 IP address, and it is owned by a company called SEDO-AS, DE. Newpoptab.com is a parked domain, which is not associated with pages and services, but it is used to reroute users to promotional materials and ad-supported software. We have received complaints in December 2017 that the site is loaded on machines infected with adware and browser hijackers. It was later found that the Newpoptab.com domain is linked to an adware that injects code into the default Web client of users so that they are shown commercials and directed to download programs by companies like Aztec Media Inc. and Polarity Technologies Ltd.
The adware linked to Newpoptab.com may have entered the systems via free software packages and bundles that were promoted as legitimate updates for plug-ins like Java and Adobe Flash. The Newpoptab.com adware is recorded to exchange data with eight IPs and use unencrypted connections primarily. The Newpoptab.com adware may read information like your Internet history, recent downloads, and software configuration to load targeted marketing materials. It is hard to say who is behind the Newpoptab.com adware considering the program lacks identifying features and communicates with legitimate servers owned by marketing companies. What is obvious is that there are people who are using the Newpoptab.com adware to claim ad-revenue by promoting ad-supported desktop tools and diverting Web traffic to premium content on the Web. Programs like the Newpoptab.com adware are not unsafe necessarily, but they can lead users to the dark corners of the Internet and corrupted pages that include an exploit kit such as the Phoenix Exploit Kit and the RIG Exploit Kit. PC users are advised to incorporate a reliable anti-malware shield on their systems and ignore pages that are opened in new tabs without your explicit command.
