Issue Discord Is Stuck on Gray Screen

Discord Is Stuck on Gray Screen

Sometimes, while using the Discord application, users may get stuck on a gray screen. The problem may occur while streaming or simply loading the application. If this has happened to you and you are wondering how to fix it, try the following solutions.

Switch Between Screen Modes

If the cause is a visual glitch and nothing more serious, switching from one screen mode to another, such as enabling full-screen mode or the smaller screen option, could do the trick. Press Ctrl+A on your keyboard and see if it has any effect.

Delete Discord’s AppData folder

  1. Close the Discord app completely.
  2. Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  3. Type %appdata% in the Run window and press Enter.
  4. Locate the Discord folder, select it, and delete it.
  5. Reopen the Discord app. It should trigger a download of a fresh version of the files that were just deleted.

Refresh Discord

  1. Launch the Discord app.
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+I on your keyboard. This should open the app's Dev Tools.
  3. Go to the 'Network' tab.
  4. Click the checkbox associated with the 'Disable cache' option.
