The I Need Directions Now is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that may compromise the user browsing experience on an affected machine. The I Need Directions Now gets installed onto affected browsers and changes the default settings in a way that they redirect the computer users to a new website, instead of the currently used search engine. What the I Need Directions Now browser hijacker does is override the settings on Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome and use the search[dot]hineeddirectionshow[dot]com as the new search engine. This change affects any open new tabs on the browsers and routes traffic through the browser hijacker website.

The website connected to the I Need Directions Now asks for permission before installing the new tab functionality, and it has its own EULA and Privacy Policy as a disclaimer, thus giving a choice to the users. The I Need Directions Now also shows tips on how to uninstall the software. The features the I Need Directions Now boasts is to provide access to driving directions and maps on a several Windows operating system versions and Mac, alongside a Web search powered by Yahoo as part of the package. Overall the I Need Directions Now appears to offer a legitimate software, but it may still finding its way onto a computer without the user's knowledge if the I Need Directions Now becomes implemented into a bundle of different software on the Internet.

PUPs are not unsafe applications. However, due to what was said above, unless the computer user believes it worth to accept the changes the I Need Directions Now brings to their machines, it is advised to remove it from the affected computer.
