The MyTransitGuide browser extension from hxxp://www.mytransitguide[.]com/index.jhtml is promoted as a tool that can deliver quick access to maps, driving directions and travel guides. The MyTransitGuide app is available to Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome users. You can navigate to Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mytransitguide/npmoikddpdgbhgbkjgjemncoegpojpng for Chrome and download the IE and Firefox versions from mytransitguide[.]com. However, you should read the EULA and privacy agreement published on Eula.mindspark[.]com/eula and Eula.mindspark[.]com/eula/#Privacy first. The MyTransitGuide extension is an ad-supported product created by Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. that behaves differently on IE, Firefox, and Chrome. The IE and Firefox versions change the start page, and the default search provider to Myway[.]com and you will need to remove the MyTransitGuide app if you want to use Google or anything else.
The MyTransitGuide Chrome Extension is programmed to set up a new tab page powered by hxxp://hp.myway[.]com/mytransitguide/ttab02/index.html. The MyTransitGuide New Tab does not offer in-house solutions regarding navigation and vacation planning, but Web surfers may find a useful collection of links to third-party services like Gotobus.com, Eurail.com, Megabus.com, Google Maps, Bing Maps, Map Quest and Uber. You can load the MyTransitGuide New tab via hxxp://hp.myway[.]com/mytransitguide/ttab02/index.html without installing the MyTransitGuide browser extension from hxxp://www.mytransitguide[.]com/index.jhtml and making permanent changes to your Internet settings. The MyTransitGuide extension is used by Mindspark to gather data like your Internet history, recently downloaded files and search terms on popular search engines. The data is collected for market development purposes, and it is shared with various ad networks which are not listed anywhere on hxxp://www.mytransitguide[.]com/index.jhtml. It should not come as a surprise if you find targeted promotions on your MyTransitGuide New Tab.
