The Mixxen Player add-on can be found at Mixxen.com and is promoted as a tool to help you 'instantly listen to almost any song or artist.' The Mixxen Player add-on claims to be an alternative to Spotify, Pandora, Grooveshark and Google Play Music. However, the Mixxen Player add-on is an adware that is a variant of the Gruvvin app and has functionalities that are found in adware like Mobius Radio and NetRadioPlayer. Security experts note that the Mixxen Player adware may cover your screen with pop-up windows that are loaded with insecure content and feature links to harmful domains.
The Mixxen Player adware is based in ActionScript and may hijack a significant portion of your processing power to facilitate its operations. The Mixxen Player adware may prevent users from enjoying 1080p and 720p videos on the Internet and cause browser crashes.
