The Minesey Extension appears to provide Web surfers with tiered gameplay that is a modified clone of the Minesweeper game that many of us remember from Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

The Minesey Extension modifies your new tab page so that you can play a Minesweeper clone. What you may not know is that the Minesey Extension is designed to change your default search provider to minesey[.]com and the extension developers record your search terms in the Omnibox. The Minesey Extension is said to come from Skylikes Media Inc. (h[tt]p://skylikes[.]com) as seen on the EULA — h[tt]p://minesey[.]com/ext/minesweepx/eula.html. Skylikes Media Inc. claims to have access to "over 1.2B Content consumers," but the company does not exercise "editorial or programming control over Third Party Content" as written in section 6. Skylikes Media Inc does not veto the advertisements, browser redirects, and promotional videos generated by the Minesey Extension. Web users who install the Minesey Extension may be redirected to sites with inappropriate content, fake news, misleading product pages on questionable online stores, and corrupted updates to Adobe Flash and Java. Computer security experts classify Minesey as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by Skylikes Media Inc. Educated PC users may want to remove the Minesey Extension from their browser and use a security scanner to clean their systems.
