EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

The MediaUpdater software does not have an official web page and can be installed via free software bundles only. The MediaUpdater software may be promoted as an updater module for installing patches to Adobe Flash Player, Java and video codecs, but security authorities recognize it as adware. The MediaUpdater adware is known to install its files in the Temp folder under the AppData directory where browsers store their temporary files. It behaves in such way to avoid security scans, and since most users do not clear their browser cache too often, it can remain unnoticed. Also, the MediaUpdater adware is written for 32-bit systems and can function on all Windows versions. The MediaUpdater adware may appear on your 'Programs and Features' list, but it might not have a functional uninstaller because adware developers do not want PC users to remove their apps easily. Computer users that are infected with the MediaUpdater may experience limited Internet bandwidth, slower browser performance and an abundance of coupons, discounts, promotions and exclusive deals to shoes, clothing and smartphones. The MediaUpdater adware functions similarly to Open Software Updater and may use tracking cookies, DOM storage data and uncover your approximate geographical location to load customized marketing offers in your Internet browser. Moreover, the MediaUpdater adware may use pop-up windows to invite you to install third-party software like Outbox and OMGMusicPlus to earn pay-per-install revenue. Users should not forget that the ads powered by the MediaUpdater adware may not be safe and want to use a trustworthy anti-spyware instrument to clean their machines.
