EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.

Computer users that like to be up-to-date with the latest hits from Hollywood and Broadway may be interested in installing the MediaTab browser extension. The MediaTab extension may make modifications to your browser and provide links to Ask.com, eBay, YouTube, Gmail, and Facebook on your new tab page. Additionally, the MediaTab extension may provide users with a search field from Mywebsearch.com. You can install the MediaTab extension from a freeware package that includes CouponAmazing and BrickProvider. If you choose to complete the installation of MediaTab, you will find that your homepage is set to Home.mywebsearch.com and your search provider is set to Search.mysearch.com, which will be loaded as your default new tab page as well. Users may be presented with a pop-up ad whenever they open the Web browser while the MediaTab extension is installed.
Security researchers reveal that this extension is a product of the infamous company APN, LLC. MediaTab is classified as an adware that has limited browser hijacking capabilities and may block the native ads on pages to load custom-made commercials from sponsors. The MediaTab adware works similarly to NewTabTV Plus and the Cool Media Tab. The ads by MediaTab may appear as banners, pop-up windows, and in-text hyperlinks to products on less-reputable online stores. The MediaTab adware may load video ads on YouTube apart from commercial breaks in streams and user-generated ads. Your browser may be abused as a free advertising platform for marketers and extensions like AdBlock Plus, and Ghostery may not protect your privacy. Products by APN, LLC. may read the users' browsing history, record their bookmarks collection, and IP address to engage in behavioral marketing. The MediaTab adware is not an exception and might request access to your social media profile on Twitter to post discounts and coupons on your behalf. The MediaTab adware may not appear in the 'Programs and Features' panel in Windows and users may need the assistance of a credible anti-malware tool.
