As police ransomware Trojans spread throughout the world, these have started to spoof legitimate police corporations from countries that were not targeted previously by displaying bogus messages containing the logo and a fake message from a law enforcement agency. The Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware is one of these more recent variants in ransomware Trojan attacks, targeting computers located in Malta. Like most police ransomware Trojans, the Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware Trojan displays a fake message from the Malta Police Force, claiming that the victim's computer is 'suspended on the grounds of unauthorized cyber activity' and, like other ransomware Trojans, demands that the computer user pays a penalty in money in order to unblock the infected computer. If the Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware Trojan is displaying a message on your computer, it is important to avoid paying the fine and, instead, removing this threat with the help of an appropriate anti-malware program.
The Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware Trojan blocks access to the infected computer's files and desktop. The Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware issues a message that takes the entire screen and demands the payment of a ransom, claiming that it is a fine demanded by the Malta Police force. It is important to note that the Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware Infection is a Trojan that invades your computer and carries out a well known malware scam. Paying the Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware's 'fine' will not change anything or eliminate this threat from your computer and give you back control over the infected computer.
To remove the Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware Trojan from your computer, ESG security researchers advise using a reliable anti-malware program to scan your hard drives. However, this may seem impossible if the Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware Trojan is preventing you from accessing your Desktop or files. Fortunately, this effect can be bypassed by starting up the infected machine in Safe Mode or through the use of an alternate boot method (such as starting up from an external memory drive). As soon as you obtain access to your files, it is a simple matter of activating your up-to-date anti-malware tool and scanning your computer for abnormalities associated with the Malta Police Force MPF Ransomware Trojan. This malware threat can also be removed manually by someone that knows the basics of the Windows Registry.
