Mal/Iframe-Gen

By SpideyMan in Trojans

Mal/Iframe-Gen is a JavaScript Trojan infection which is usually embedded by cybercrooks in legal websites. Mal/Iframe-Gen may be found in reliable websites that have been corrupted for downloading and installing a malicious code or other malware threats. These websites are mainly used by cybercrooks as a mean for more severe attacks. A malicious JavaScript is injected in all compromised websites, which is masked in an attempt to bypass detection. The payload of the injected script of Mal/Iframe-Gen is to write an iframe to the web page. The iframe points to what occurs to be a 'middleman' server, used to redirect the traffic elsewhere. This is usually identified as a Traffic Direction System (TDS), which is monitored by cybercrooks that enables them to generate it to reroute user traffic to wherever they want. To protect your machine, uninstall Mal/Iframe-Gen as early as possible.
