MagicMovieSearch is a Possibly Unwanted Program (PUP) that causes redirects through a fake search engine named feed.magicmoviesearch.com. MagicMovieSearch installs as a browser extension or a separate program and then changes the affected browser's homepage, new tab URL, and default search engine with its own. As a result, all user search queries are redirected through MagicMovieSearch dubious search tool to unsafe third-party websites, generating advertising revenues for the cybercriminals behind this tactic. As feed.magicmoviesearch.com cannot conduct a proper search, it misuses some of the popular legit search engines to deliver a results page to the user. At the same time, it injects links to potentially harmful pages within the presented search results.
