Key Player is a program produced by Crossrider Advanced Technologies (Platform). Upon installation on a PC, KeyPlayer may add a toolbar which may show continuous unwanted ads by injecting them into websites or showing over parts of such websites ads, banners or discount coupons that would not otherwise occur. Therefore, Key Player is categorized as adware. Key Player may convert words on websites the computer user visits into hyperlinks that are related to ads. Key Player may communicate with its servers to check for new offers, the placement of offers, the date and time the computer user installs and uninstalls Key Player, and whether an updated version of Key Player is available. Key Player may monitor and record the URL of every website the computer user visits, the ads that occur on these websites, and the ads that the PC user clicks. Throughout a setup, Key Player may register itself to load on start-up through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically run on the PC. After installation, Key Player may add a Windows Service which is created to load repeatedly in the background.
