JS:Clicker-P is a Trojan that is incorporated in a 'Who's Viewed Your Facebook Profile' malware campaign proliferating on Facebook. JS:Clicker-P seduces target computer users into downloading and running a malevolent executable file, which poses as a 'Who's Viewed Your Facebook Profile?' extension. The infected .exe file, recognized as JS:Clicker-P, steals confidential data from local Internet browsers, loads automatically when the PC user starts Windows and aims at affecting all of the attacked PC user's friends on Facebook. The .exe file is presently hosted on Google Code. JS:Clicker-P is produced to access Internet resources, commonly websites. JS:Clicker-P does this either by sending certain commands to the hijacked Internet browser or by making changes to system files that give standard URLs for Internet resources, such as the Windows hosts file. JS:Clicker-P may be used by cybercriminals to raise the number of visits to specific websites in order to increase the number of hits for online advertisements. JS:Clicker-P may be used to execute a DoS (Denial of Service) attack on a particular server. JS:Clicker-P may also drop and install other malware infections on the corrupted PC.
