Java.Awetook is a Trojan that exploits a zero-day vulnerability in the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to escalate its privileges for downloading and executing a malicious payload on the compromised PC. Java.Awetook may drop the infected file onto the corrupted workstation. Java.Awetook may also be used by cybercriminals to download and install other malware infections. Java.Awetook enables remote attackers to gain full access and control over the infected computer system.
