Computer users that enjoy their privacy may be excited to find a tool that can help them to accomplish their searches with their identity concealed. At least, this is what an application named Incognito Searches promises. However, keep you 'incognito' is not the true intent of the Incognito Searches. What makes it a tool that shouldn't be installed on your computer, usually without your knowledge, is that the Incognito Searches will change your homepage and search provider to feed.incognitosearches.com, a browser hijacker that instead of using the search provider of your choice, will use the Yahoo Search to provide search results for your queries. This change may not please various computer users since no one would like to lose control of their machines. Besides this unwanted action, the Incognito Searches may register your keystrokes, another invasive action.
It is not difficult to notice the presence of the Incognito Searches on your computer. It will appear as an icon on the Google Chrome's menu. Clicking on this icon, you will see a search field saying 'Search the web in Incognito mode' or 'Incognito Searches.' This search field, if used, will generate a window in 'Incognito' mode, which will start the search on the search.yahoo.com. Since the Incognito Searches may enter the computer accompanying a free software downloaded by the user, it is advised that users wanting to remove the Incognito Searches from their machines use a malware solution to remove the Incognito Searches safely.
