HoroscopeZone

HoroscopeZone is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that lures people in with the promise of easy access to daily horoscopes. However, during installation, it asks the users for various permissions that allow it to modify the current browser settings, which creates significant security risks.

This particular PUP is classified as a browser hijacker - if allowed, it will take over the user’s Web browser and force it to either visit the PUPs home site or the site of one of their affiliates. If you have installed HoroscopeZone, you may notice that your usual homepage address has been changed to https://portal.horoscope-zone.com/?query= suddenly. In addition, your default search engine will now be set to go through Feed.horoscope-zone.com.

While HoroscopeZone is in no way as unsafe as some of the other types of malware, you should know that there are risks. Your search queries may be tracked, and the search results may not be as reliable due to the inclusion of unwanted advertisements. It is recommended to remove HoroscopeZone from your PC by using a legitimate security software preferably.
