Once inside a PC, Hoax.Win32.BadJoke.VB may send a message informing the victim that damage has been done, or will be done, or a threat- which does not really exist- is inside the system. Hoax.Win32.BadJoke.VB may further alarm a victim by displaying messages about reformatting the disk, however no real formatting actually takes place. The severity of the security threat mentioned in the messages all depends on the program author's "sense of humor", however the threat is never real and can therefore be ignored.
