HidenGate

By GoldSparrow in Adware

The HidenGate software that you may find in freeware bundles is reported to be adware. The HidenGate program may be promoted to deliver VPN services to countries like China, Pakistan, and Iran where government censorship is severe. The HidenGate program may be found in the company of adware such as TigerTrade and WhiteClick. PC users who proceed to install HidenGate may notice that the program runs in the system background and does not offer a GUI (General User Interface). Computer researchers have found that HidenGate changes the DNS settings for systems and reroutes the user's traffic through the servers of advertisers.

The HidenGate program may be used to change the advertisements on your favorite pages and add sponsored search results to your online search activities. The HidenGate adware may add code to unencrypted pages loaded in your Web browser and display promotional materials via pop-up windows, floating ad-boxes, browser notifications, pop-under alerts and new tabs with video streams. HidenGate is not likely to help you circumvent the Internet censorship and may expose you to corrupted advertisements. Ad filters and privacy enhancement extensions are rendered ineffective with HidenGate on the system. PC users can remove HidenGate and related bloatware with the help of a reputable anti-malware scanner.
