HeroCodec

HeroCodec, like Luxe Codec XP and PC Codec Pack, is a fake codec pack that uses malicious tactics in order to spread and intimidate users into purchasing it. Typically, this parasite infiltrates a system due to the Zlob trojan and attempts to trick the user into purchasing the HeroCodec pack by offering up misleading information. By displaying false pop-ups and error messages when attempting to play video and audio files, the HeroCodec implies that one cannot view these types of media without purchasing the codec. Do not be fooled, and remove this infection as soon as possible.
