The Gemius program is classified by security analysts as adware that can be detected as Win32/Trackware.Gemius by several security applications. As the Win32/Trackware.Gemius detection suggests Gemius can use tracking cookies and record your clicks online in order to generate tailor-suited ads. The Gemius adware can inject your web browser with pop-up ads, banners and in-text hyperlinks to sponsored content. However, the Gemius adware can be used to display harmful advertisements that may open possibilities for attackers to compromise your system. Win32/Trackware.Gemius can appear in your web client as a browser extension, an add-on and a Browser Helper Object in order to execute its operations.
