EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

Fun2Save is a low quality adware infection that targets computer users and tries to generate advertising revenue at their expense. Fun2Save follows the common pattern used by other PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) to profit at the expense of computer users. This is usually done using three approaches exemplified by the two most common types of PUP designations: browser hijackers, and adware:
- Fun2Save uses adware techniques by displaying numerous unwanted advertisements on affected Web browsers. Fun2Save will interrupt computer users constantly with its irritating pop-up advertisements and other types of marketing material. Fun2Save will try to interfere with the affected Web browser by replacing advertisements on all websites viewed by the computer user with Fun2Save's own marketing material. Other types of advertisements associated with Fun2Save include large, disruptive banners; irritating video advertisements that activate automatically; and in-text marketing links that cause pop-up windows to appear when the affected computer user's mouse passes over the text.
- Fun2Save will keep track of computer users' online activity, online searches, browser habits, and computer settings. Although this information may be used by Fun2Save to deliver advertisements to the affected Web browser, it may also be used by Fun2Save's creators for marketing research. However, one risky use of this information is to sell it to a third party.
- Fun2Save uses browser hijacking techniques to force computer users to view content associated with Fun2Save. This includes taking over the affected Web browser to force it to view certain websites repeatedly and changing the affected Web browsers settings. For example, Fun2Save may change the default search engine and the home page of the affected browser, exposing computer users to unwanted content as soon as they open the affected Web browser.
