Due to affiliated trojans infiltrating the system via security exploits and modifying the browser settings, web-surfing activities are redirected to the Free-webscaners.net domain. Here the computer is subject to a fake online scan that reports various fictitious and overly exaggerated infection results. This scheme is implemented to persuade the user to purchase one of the fake spyware remover programs advertised by Free-webscaners.net.
