The FlowSpirit software from SpiritSoft is promoted at spiritsoft.cn and ipts.com as a free tool for Webmasters that are interested in boosting the traffic to their pages. The FlowSpirit software is available under the names Traffic Spirit and Flow Wizard as well. Regular PC users may not be interested in FlowSpirit, but they may encounter the app in free software bundles. FlowSpirit (a.k.a. Traffic Spirit & Flow Wizard) is a network utility that requires a lot of processing power to facilitate its operations. It is best to read the F.A.Q. section at ipts.com/aq.php if you are interested in running FlowSpirit to increase the traffic to pages you manage.

The FlowSpirit program is based on a modified Blink Web rendering engine, which performs requests to various pages on the Internet via a closed VPN network. All users that run FlowSpirit (a.k.a. Traffic Spirit & Flow Wizard) are required to share traffic to related pages. This results in an increased Web traffic to sites that are managed by members of the FlowSpirit network. Hence, the owners of the sites can claim more advertising revenue and mislead advertisers into thinking their site is very popular and receives thousands of unique visits each day. Computer security experts reveal that the code powering the FlowSpirit program is not harmful and takes advantage of open-source technologies. However, the FlowSpirit app may be used to simulate human presence on sites and allow their owners to profit from ad revenue.

Cybersecurity and SEO experts do not recommend the usage of tools like FlowSpirit (a.k.a. Traffic Spirit & Flow Wizard) since these apps may be very resource hungry and may impair your site rating with search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. Not to mention, advertisers who find their partners have used FlowSpirit and alternative solutions to simulate visits may not do business with said partners. FlowSpirit by SpiritSoft is classified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that you may want to remove with a trusted anti-malware scanner. AV vendors are known to detect objects associated with the FlowSpirit utility as:

  • Artemis!15A05C3741D7
