The Filter Results software may be offered to you as a search assistant on low-quality software distribution platforms and can be found accompanying free software bundles. Security experts warn users that the Filter Results software is perceived as an adware because its main goal is to monetize your clicks on ads for its developers. Filter Results is similar to other adware like Faux Results and The Results Hub and can use tracking cookies, DOM storage data and record your search terms to customize the marketing offers it shows. Additionally, the Filter Results adware uses parts of the code of BrowseFox and can replace the native ads on eBay, Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon with links to potentially harmful websites and untrusted online stores. The ads by Filter Results may take the form of banners, contextual and transitional ads, pop-up and pop-under windows. Also, the Filter Results adware may promote rogue security apps like Antivirus Action and Antivirus Antimalware 2011 to earn more revenue. You should note that the rogue apps mentioned before are designed to scare users with fake virus alerts and invite users to purchase unneeded services. The Filter Results adware may suggest you to install a harmful program based on your software configuration, and you may wish to use a trusted anti-spyware solution to remove it.
