The Films Fetcher browser extension may be offered to users as an application that can deliver the latest news from Hollywood and MTV to your browser quickly. The Films Fetcher extension is published as a free program, and it may travel in software packages with other free solutions. The Films Fetcher app may alter the user's new tab page and search provider to Flmman.com. Computer security researchers warn that Films Fetcher is classified as a browser hijacker that performs browser redirects to Yahoo and extracts data from the browser for marketing purposes. The Films Fetcher software is an ad-supported product that may use the site Flmman.com to record the users' search keywords and reroute them to Search.yahoo.com. When you install the Films Fetcher extension you are shown a message box that lists the necessary rights for Films Fetcher to work correctly:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Change your search settings to flmman.com.
- Read and change your bookmarks.
- Manage your apps, extensions and themes.
The ads by Films Fetcher may be placed on your new tab page, and you may notice new tabs opening on their own. The new tabs generated by Films Fetcher might include promotional images, video, and audio from untrusted ad platforms. The Films Fetcher browser hijacker does not have an official homepage, but it features a hidden page on the Chrome Web Store, which we found by researching the extension's ID string.
