The Favoritesearch.org site is offered to users as a reliable replacement for the default layout of their new tab page and start page. Favoritesearch.org is associated with a browser extension with the same name that you may encounter as 'FavoriteSearch' listed under the 'Custom' and 'Advanced' option of free software packages. The Favoritesearch.org is not blacklisted by Web filters and is safe to use. However, the FavoriteSearch extension is perceived as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that may make unsolicited changes to your browser. The FavoriteSearch extension may redirect users to Favoritesearch.org whenever they start typing in the Omnibox and search bar on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Additionally, users may load Favoritesearch.org when they open a new tab and start an online session. Computer users that installed the FavoriteSearch app willingly may be satisfied with its activity, but others may not like the tools provided at Favoritesearch.org.

Favoritesearch.org is powered by a custom-built version of Google that generates ads via the Google's DoubleClick platform. Favoritesearch.org does not offer a standalone search service and lacks the functionality of a standard search on Google.com. Web surfers that land on the result page of Favoritesearch.org will find that it promotes products and services, lacks results sorting filters, a SafeSearch option, Advanced Search support, language selection and a record of your recent searches. Also, the Favoritesearch.org site does not support image searching, and users are redirected to the original Google.com landing pages for video and image searches. Favoritesearch.org does not compare to Bing, Yahoo, and Google that was used for a basis favorably. Power users and regular Web surfers may not find the Favoritesearch.org site very helpful, and many users may not welcome the redirects via the FavoriteSearch extension. You should be able to remove the FavoriteSearch app by accessing the Extensions/Add-ons Manager, but you may need an anti-spyware tool to erase the persistent tracking cookies downloaded by FavoriteSearch.
