Aztec Media Inc. is a company whose name is associated with several Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) that are distributed as browser extensions. One of the latest additions to this software publisher’s portfolio is an application called Fanatics Search, and it is advertised as a browser extension that is able to enhance the user’s ability to search the Web. However, the usefulness of Fanatics Search is questionable, and installing it on your computer might not be the best idea because this add-on is known to bring potentially undesired changes to the configuration of popular Web browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

A quick look to the Fanatics Search download page for Chrome users reveals that this extension demands permission to manipulate the browser’s configuration and set the default search aggregator to Blpsearch.com – a safe change which, however, the users are unlikely to enjoy. The Blpsearch.com appears to work reliably, and this website has not been linked to suspicious activity so that you can rest assured that using it will not expose you to potentially unsafe content.
