Exploit:Win32/Pdfjsc.AFU is a Trojan that propagates to affected PCs as a harmful .PDF file exploiting known vulnerabilities in Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat. The harmfull .PDF file carries a malevolent JavaScript that exploits a vulnerability, discussed in CVE-2010-0188. The vulnerabilities, discussed in CVE-2010-0188, permit Exploit:Win32/Pdfjsc.AFU to drop and execute infectious files. Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader earlier than 8.2.1 and Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader earlier than 9.3.1 are vulnerable to Exploit:Win32/Pdfjsc.AFU. Computer users can inadvertently download Exploit:Win32/Pdfjsc.AFU when visiting a hacked website with an unprotected computer. Exploit:Win32/Pdfjsc.AFU can also proliferate to targeted PCs via the 'Blackhole exploit pack'. If Exploit:Win32/Pdfjsc.AFU successfully exploits an affected computer system, it strives to download and install malicious files which may be found as malware infections.
