Everyday Tab

The Everyday Tab is a Possibly Unwanted Program (PUP) with browser hijacker capabilities, offered by the website 'everydaytab.com.' This PUP is masked as a browser extension that would turn your New Tab page into a personalized dashboard offering features like a 'To Do' list, weather information, links to Facebook, Amazon, Bookmarks, and so on. The Everyday Tab can be downloaded from 'hxxps://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/everyday-tab/gjmodidemojeffnmplcdjibdjmiaibkn?hl=en.' However, it also is typically bundled with some other freeware types that can be downloaded from the Internet.

The Everyday Tab targets all popular browsers, yet it is mostly found in Google Chrome. The Everyday Tab may make significant changes to your browser that can distort the overall performance of your machine. The Everyday Tab may change the infected browser's default page to 'chrome-extension://gjmodidemojeffnmplcdjibdjmiaibkn/newtab[.]html,' the default search provider and modifies the 'new tab' feature to launch the new search portal page. This new fake search engine can redirect your searches to possibly unsafe websites, as well as display irrelevant results, sponsored links and advertisements. Further harmful features of the Everyday Tab may include reading and changing data on visited Web pages, displaying misleading notifications, reading and modifying the browsing history, changing bookmarks, interfering with other extensions and apps and more.

The same developer offers another similar PUP named Handy Tab, which can be found on 'hxxps://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/handy-tab/clgckgfbhciacomhlchmgdnplmdiadbj?hl=en.' The Everyday Tab should be removed as soon as detected as its main purpose is to track the users' online behavior to be able to display personalized advertisements and sponsored pages that have no true benefits to the user.
