EveryClear

EveryClear is a fake security program that targets computer users in Korea with a well-known online scam. Like most rogue anti-virus applications, EveryClear attempts to convince its victim that their computer systems are severely infected with malware and that to remove this malware the victim must pay for a useless 'full version' of EveryClear. However, EveryClear has no anti-malware capabilities designed, instead to display the same alarming error messages and fake security alerts in order to perpetrate its scam. While most rogue anti-virus programs are easy to detect, the fact that most of EveryClear's interface, messages and files are entirely in Korean may be confusing for many computer users. However, a closer look at EveryClear's layout and design makes it clear that this application is imitating known security programs. EveryClear is part of a batch of Korean rogue anti-virus programs with very convincing and well-designed interfaces. It uses a colorful design with a cute cartoon computer in its logo in order to appear legitimate. The fact that criminals behind EveryClear have taken the time to make its design more appealing makes this fake security program much more effective than other rogue anti-viruses at scamming its victims, since most of these kinds of applications will simply imitate the design and layout of Windows Security Center. Whatever its origin, there is no questioning that EveryClear is a fake security program and that it should be removed with a real, reliable anti-malware application. Failure to remove EveryClear from an infected computer system will usually result in further problems such as loss of personal information and long-term damage to the victim's operating system.

Recognizing EveryClear for What It Is

Although most rogue security programs can easily be recognized due to the content of their messages, EveryClear may be more difficult to identify as a fake security program due to the fact that its messages are in Korean. However, the computer user doesn't need necessarily to know this language to be able to apprehend that there is something really wrong with how EveryClear does its business. Some characteristics of EveryClear that are closely linked to most rogue anti-virus programs include the fact that EveryClear will usually be installed on the victim's computer system without the victim's authorization, often as a result of clicking on a corrupted advertisement usually found on malicious websites located on Korean servers. Also, attempting to remove EveryClear through normal means will usually only result in your computer system crashing. Computer users have reported that a successful uninstallation of this rogue security program will be undone when the infected computer reboots, as EveryClear will reinstall itself automatically.
