Eco-av.com

Eco-av.com is a fake security website that promotes a rogue anti-spyware application by the name of Eco Antivirus. Eco-av.com displays the misleading slogan "Stay Protected. Care of Earth" in order to convince potential victims that it is a computer security application that promotes the preservation of the environment. Trojans are used to distribute Eco-av.com and modify victims' hosts file to cause victims' browsers to automatically go to Eco-av.com. Once a victim has visited Eco-av.com, a number of pop-ups and fake system scans will be displayed, claiming that the user's computer has several malware infections. The aim of the fake security alerts is to persuade users that they need to purchase Eco Antivirus in order to remove all the parasites that were detected. This is all a scam; Eco-av.com is not to be trusted.
