The Driving Directions Home extension is recorded to gain the following privileges if it is installed in Chrome:

  • Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
  • Read and change your browsing history.

Additionally, your new tab page is altered to Drivingdirectionshome.org where you can find links to third-party services like YouTube, Facebook, Gmail, Instagram, Tumblr and Netflix. As the name suggests, the Driving Directions Home extension may help you plan visits to neighboring cities and locations you may be interested in. You should note that Drivingdirectionshome.org does not offer a stand-alone map service as it serves as a redirect-gateway to Google Maps, MapQuest, Bing Maps, HERE Maps and Zoom.earth. It is worth mentioning that most of the resources linked to Drivingdirectionshome.org are suited to Web surfers based in the United States. Therefore, Web surfers from Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia and South America might not find the New Tab by Driving Directions Home very useful.
