The Driving Directions Home browser extension is created by Polarity Technologies Ltd. The program can be found at Drivingdirectionshome.org. Most of the Driving Directions Home installations appear to be facilitated by free software bundles whose publishers benefit from pay-per-install revenue. The company behind the Driving Directions Home browser extension is famous for creating ad-supported programs that redirect Web traffic to Search.yahoo.com and allow them to claim ad revenue from Yahoo Ads. The Driving Directions Home extension is recorded to gain the following privileges if it is installed in Chrome:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Read and change your browsing history.
Additionally, your new tab page is altered to Drivingdirectionshome.org where you can find links to third-party services like YouTube, Facebook, Gmail, Instagram, Tumblr and Netflix. As the name suggests, the Driving Directions Home extension may help you plan visits to neighboring cities and locations you may be interested in. You should note that Drivingdirectionshome.org does not offer a stand-alone map service as it serves as a redirect-gateway to Google Maps, MapQuest, Bing Maps, HERE Maps and Zoom.earth. It is worth mentioning that most of the resources linked to Drivingdirectionshome.org are suited to Web surfers based in the United States. Therefore, Web surfers from Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia and South America might not find the New Tab by Driving Directions Home very useful. We have discovered that Polarity Technologies Ltd. has published several clones of Driving Directions Home, which can be found on the following pages:
- Maps Driving Directions by Mapsdrivingdirections.org — Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/maps-driving-directions/gpaebanaopabfhbdkinadojffejjafpl.
- Directions Mapper by Directions-mapper.com — Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/directions-mapper/caobfmbimahnolmbaoppbibigjhnagan/related.
- Directions Express by Directions.express — Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/directions-express/jmkpkoiblfkpcaompicnochpiankedai.

- Easy Maps Access by Easymapsaccess.com — Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/easy-maps-access/dgijpfbdmkifnjbjkagakpidomeocdpe.
They all feature the same icon, redirect users to Search.yahoo.com and offer the same new tab replacement. Polarity Technologies Ltd. is infamous for flooding the Chrome Web Store with clones, and its main goal is to drive as much Web traffic as possible to sites that work with Yahoo Ads. Researchers do not recommend installing the Driving Directions Home extension as it may perform several browser redirects and use persistent tracking cookies to help marketers recognize your machine on affiliated pages. The Driving Directions Home and its clones are marked as Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs), which may not offer quality content and can send data about your online activity to marketers via unencrypted connections. It is a good idea to read the documentation on Drivingdirectionshome.org/eula/, Drivingdirectionshome.org/terms/ and Drivingdirectionshome.org/privacy/ before you decide to continue using the Driving Directions Home app. AV engines may show warnings that the Driving Directions Home is found on the system and refer to the following detection names:
