The Download Speed Test is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) with adware features that is advertised as capable of providing useful data about your Internet speed. Computer users whose machines are presenting poor performance may be interested in downloading the Download Speed Test hoping they could find and eliminate what is causing the issue. However, the Download Speed Test also may be downloaded from the Internet when the PC user downloads a free software. The Download Speed Test may lead to numerous system issues when it is downloaded and installed on a computer. Computer users may enable the download of the Download Speed Test while they are downloading free applications from questionable websites, or they may download the Download Speed Test inadvertently by being not attentive enough to the installation process of free programs. The Download Speed Test may add a malicious code automatically on suspicious websites or legitimate websites that have been hijacked. The aim of code injections of the Download Speed Test may be to detect and exploit vulnerabilities on programs installed on the computer to install potentially unwanted applications.
