Cristall.club

Users are sent to pages like Cristall.club by a Potentially Unwanted Application (PUA) installed on their computers. When a PUA opens the Cristall.club page, it usually loads this questionable website in a new tab or a new browser window. Then, the page itself opens another two or three similar browser hijackers sites, all offering no meaningful content but only using click-bait techniques to generate revenues for cybercriminals and make users subscribe to browser notifications. In most cases, this is achieved by displaying a message to the users claiming they need to click on an "Allow" button to proceed to the website's content.

PUAs spread through infected banners or advertisements, as well as a method called "bundling" – malware creators bundle undesired applications and tools within the executables of a popular freeware; thus, these programs get installed on a computer without the user's knowledge, automatically.

Among the primary functionalities of PUAs is to display promotional content in the form of pop-up messages, fake security alerts or bogus offers. Also, many of them redirect users to possibly corrupted websites like Cristall.club. On top of that, some PUAs track the users' data, which can then be misused by third parties, leading to serious privacy issues. PUAs can be removed through an automated malware removal tool.
