CouponPeak is a Potentially Unwanted Program. CouponPeak is an adware infection that is used to display advertisement on affected Web browsers and promote questionable products. CouponPeak is used to conduct market research, display advertising material and drive traffic to certain websites. CouponPeak presents a problem to computer users' security and CouponPeak should be removed immediately with the help of a reliable security application. Letting CouponPeak remain on a computer may result in problems that could potentially endanger the computer user's privacy and the affected computer's security.

It is Recommended to Remove CouponPeak from the Affected Computer

CouponPeak may take the form of a Web browser extension, add-on or plug-in which may be installed on the most common Web browsers on Windows (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.). Usually, CouponPeak is distributed by bundling CouponPeak with freeware programs distributed through potentially unsafe websites or platforms. During the installation, the computer user may find that it automatically opts in for installing CouponPeak and other PUPs along with the freeware program. Computer users may opt out of installing this type of content, but to do this it is necessary to follow the installation process carefully. In most cases, PC security researchers advise using Custom Installation in order to choose exactly what software to install and not to install. Once installed, CouponPeak makes harmful changes to the affected Web browser that may cause the appearance of pop-up windows, browser redirects, performance problems and other similar issues.

Dealing with CouponPeak and Similar PUPs

If CouponPeak is installed on your computer, PC security researchers strongly recommend removing CouponPeak immediately. Usually, CouponPeak can be uninstalled using the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs feature. Regardless, there will be situations when it will not be possible to remove CouponPeak from the Web browser's add-on manager. Since CouponPeak may expose the affected computer to harmful third party content, it is important to run full threat scans of the affected computer after CouponPeak has been removed entirely.
