PC security researchers have received reports of intrusive advertisements known as CoupMania advertisements because they may contain a label saying 'CoupMania Ads', 'Delivered by CoupMania', 'Ads by CoupMania', 'Courtesy of CoupMania', etc. These types of advertisements may be associated with adware and take the form of a Web browser extension or add-on specifically designed to force Web browsers to display advertisements. Adware associated with CoupMania may affect Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox and other popular Web browsers. Since these kinds of components may be installed as Web browser extensions, they may affect computers regarding of the targeted operating system.

These types of components may cause affected Web browsers to display pop-up windows and new tabs containing CoupMania advertisements and irritating messages. These advertisements may promote known misleading tactics; many computer users have reported that they may attempt to convince PC users that they have won some kind of prize in order to trick them into installing other types of unwanted components. For example, they may contain a message saying 'Congratulations, you have won a new iPhone,' to entice gullible PC users into clicking on the advertisement.

To do this, CoupMania is associated with adware and tracking components that may keep track of computer users' online activities, search histories, browsing habits and other data.

To stop CoupMania, PC security researchers recommend removing the adware infection that causes them to appear. To do this, computer users should use a reliable security application that is fully updated. To prevent future problems with adware and similar components, computer users should take care when installing any new software. The installation process should be followed carefully, and computer users should opt out of installing any Web browser toolbars, extensions or similar components not directly associated with their original download.
