EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

ConvertDocsOnline is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), which arrives onto PCs as a drive-by download or in a software bundle with another piece of software. Since ConvertDocsOnline modifies the Web browser settings without notice, it also is a typical browser hijacker capable of tracking the users' browsing activity potentially, often with the purpose of bombarding them with unsafe advertisements at a later stage.
While the application promises to provide file conversion services, its main focus is on changing a Web browser's homepage, new tab page, and default search engine to hp.myway.com. This modification occurs apparently in a process that is unknown to the PC user. As a result, the latter gets a new homepage and search engine as a hidden extra. There are three potentially bad implications on these new changes. First, users may have trouble getting rid of the PUP because the app's developer may have thrown in some defense mechanisms. Considering that all it takes for a PUP's installation to go unnoticed is a certain tampering with the custom settings of the software bundle containing the PUP, there is no reason not to expect some hidden uninstall barriers integrated within. Second, using a largely unpopular search engine such as hp.myway.com carries some risks too. Users can be either redirected to threat-laden, ad-heavy sites, or their browsing history may be collected and sold to third parties, which may use these data for their own benefit, be it by sending user-tailored ads, or lure people into visiting suspicious websites with eye-catching content. Last but not least, browser hijackers are known to slow down the system performance or even engage in diverting CPU and GPU power to mine cryptocurrency for somebody else's benefit. Overall, hijackers and PUPs may dig deep into the users private browsing data, which is why they should be avoided regardless of how useful their features may seem at first sight.
Since removing a PUP from a PC may be more difficult than installing it inadvertently, taking a preventive action to always download software from official sources, preferably from the websites of the official vendors offering the app, remains of paramount importance.
