EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

CheapMe is a Potentially Unwanted Program. CheapMe is used to generate gains through the exposure of PC users to unsolicited advertisements. CheapMe may do this in a number of ways, including the following:
- CheapMe generates advertising revenue by making the affected Web browsers display different types of advertisements. CheapMe causes the appearance of pop-up advertisements and other irritating marketing material and may also insert its own advertisements into websites viewed on the affected Web browser.
- CheapMe also generates affiliate marketing revenue by forcing computer users to visit certain websites repeatedly. This practice, known as browser hijacking, is particularly threatening because it prevents computer users from controlling their Web browsers. Although malware analysts have not observed this to happen, there is nothing stopping marketers from directing the victim's Web browser to websites containing exploit kits or other unsafe material.
- CheapMe spies on the computer user's activities, keeping track of the computer users' online habits, search history and other data. The gathered data may be bought by a third party for marketing research purposes. If used by the wrong people, data gathered by CheapMe could be used in harmful actions.
It is highly recommended by security researchers to avoid installing CheapMe or allowing CheapMe to remain on your computer.

Taking the Pertaining Measures to Protect Your Computer from CheapMe
Most of the time, CheapMe is bundled with low quality freeware distributed on low quality software distribution websites. Unsuspecting computer users may allow CheapMe to be installed on their computer after downloading freeware software and not checking the installation procedure carefully. Because of this, you can avoid CheapMe by being careful when installing new software and, when possible, choosing custom installation to ensure that only the components you want are being installed.
CheapMe may be removed using your Web browser's extension manager or the Windows Control Panel. However, to ensure that CheapMe has left no content on your computer, security researchers suggest following up with a reliable security application that is fully up-to-date. The unwanted changes made by CheapMe to your Web browser settings may need to be undone.
