Bugat is a dangerous banking Trojan designed to surreptitiously steal victims' online banking details. Bugat is able to monitor an infected user's internet activity and search for the URLs of several different financial institutions. Once a victim accesses one of the targeted URLs, Bugat will capture his/her account credentials and then send them to a remote server. Bugat may utilize phishing attacks to obtain additional identifying information from a victim.

Bugat is able to modify a bank's login page and include additional fields that request information such as the victim's PIN number, mother's maiden name or date of birth. Bugat is also able to steal a victim's cookies as well as download additional malware onto the infected PC. Bugat is a computer threat that is advisable to be removed upon detection.
