BestDiscountApp is a Potentially Unwanted Program, known by the acronym PUP. BestDiscountApp is not threatening but is specifically designed to generate advertising revenue while causing certain problems and irritating symptoms on affected Web browsers. BestDiscountApp may be installed as a Web browser extension or add-on. BestDiscountApp may be installed on the most popular Web browsers on the market, including Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Once installed, it may be difficult to use the affected Web browser due to the presence of constant, repeated advertisements and various performance issues that may begin to appear. For example, affected Web browsers may become slow, sluggish, freeze frequently, and may take much longer than normal to load a Web page.
BestDiscountApp may be used to make money from the following sources:
- BestDiscountApp may cause affected Web browsers to display repeated advertisements on Web pages visited by the computer users. BestDiscountApp may insert these advertisements directly into the websites or cause pop-up windows to appear on the affected Web browser. These pop-up windows may try to convince computer users to install a fake system, software or Web browser update, which may be an additional PUP.
- BestDiscountApp also may generate revenue by increasing traffic to certain sponsored websites. BestDiscountApp may do this in several ways. BestDiscountApp may redirect computer users to the websites directly; BestDiscountApp also may manipulate search results on search engines to ensure that these websites appear in the list of results.
- Another way in which BestDiscountApp may generate revenue is by keeping track of the computer users' activities and collecting information about the Web browser. The collected data may provide hints to deliver additional advertisements to the affected Web browser.
Computer users have complained of issues with BestDiscountApp after installing some kind of freeware application. This is because PUPs like BestDiscountApp may be distributed by bundling them with free software. PUPs like BestDiscountApp may take over the affected Web browser, often subtly, to ensure that sponsored content is delivered to the affected computer user. These types of advertisements and redirects may pose a security risk indirectly since they may be poorly monitored and may use misleading tactics to convince computer users to install additional PUPs. Advertisements associated with BestDiscountApp are easily recognizable because they may contain text such as 'advertisements by BestDiscountApp' or 'Brought to you by BestDiscountApp.' These symptoms may be a foolproof indicator that BestDiscountApp has been installed on your computer. If you notice that these types of advertisements appear on your Web browser, you should use a reliable malware remover to get rid of BestDiscountApp and other PUPs completely.

Removing BestDiscountApp and Similar PUPs
Although BestDiscountApp is not threatening, PC security researchers still advise its immediate removal. BestDiscountApp and other PUPs may cause performance issues and the many advertisements linked to BestDiscountApp may prevent the use of the affected computer effectively. Many security programs may be incapable of detecting BestDiscountApp or other PUPs. This is because they may be engineered to react to threats such as viruses and Trojans, meaning that they are not capable of detecting or removing low-level threats like PUPs. Malware analysts recommend ensuring that your computer contains a security application capable of dealing with PUPs since it may have several effects on your computer's performance as well as posing a risk to your browsing data. Once BestDiscountApp has been uninstalled, malware analysts advise making sure that any unwanted changes linked to BestDiscountApp have also been removed. For example, BestDiscountApp may change your Web browser's default search engine and homepage automatically, a change that may need to be undone manually.
