Backdoor.ExonetVB is a threat that may remain hidden on a compromised machine for a while. This threatening software may find its way onto a computer in many ways, most of which are deceptive advertisements, pop-ups, and banners, but also through drive-by downloads, fake updates, files downloaded off social media and more as the sources of infection. Backdoor.ExonetVB also may alter the PC settings, such as the Windows Firewall, block access to anti-virus suites and more.
The presence of Backdoor.ExonetVB on any computer may be noticed due to a number of symptoms, specifically error message pop-ups that allude to a problem like a virus infection, though those will not be originating from the currently installed anti-virus or anti-malware security suite. Unwanted advertisements and pop-ups may start showing up in websites, injected into pages by threats brought on by Backdoor.ExonetVB. This may affect the performance of affected PC eventually, not to mention that the machine may restart frequently or it may even have more software installed on it automatically.
