EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

Airtostrong is a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) that may be incorrectly referred to as a virus in some online sources. Airtostrong may be distributed by making computer users believe that Airtostrong is somehow useful. The most popular way of distributing PUPs like Airtostrong is by bundling Airtostrong with other software so that Airtostrong may be installed on the users' computers without their knowledge. Even if Airtostrong has supposed benefits, the numerous issues that are associated commonly with Airtostrong and similar PUPs far outweigh any possible advantage of installing this PUP. The main problem that comes as a result of installing Airtostrong is the presence of constant, annoying advertisements on the affected Web browser. Because of this, malware researchers recommend that computer users avoid installing Airtostrong and remove this PUP immediately if Airtostrong has already been installed on an affected computer.

Why Fraudsters may Use Airtostrong and Similar PUPs
Once Airtostrong is installed, it may start pestering computer users with numerous advertisements, pop-up windows and new tabs. Airtostrong also may cause additional problems on affected computers. However, on the surface, Airtostrong does have the appearance of a legitimate Web browser extension. Do not be fooled! The following are just a few of the many problems that may be related to Airtostrong and similar PUPs:
- Airtostrong may have an adverse effect on a Web browser's performance. Airtostrong may cause a Web browser to slow down substantially, Web browser redirects, or a number of other unwanted behaviors. Crashing, freezing, and slow performance of the affected Web browser may be linked to Airtostrong and similar PUPs.
- Airtostrong may cause redirects and advertisements related to online content that presents a threat risk or advertises a known tactic. Computer users are advised against interacting with Airtostrong advertisements or content that has been associated with Airtostrong redirects.
- Airtostrong may establish connections. In many cases, Airtostrong may represent a privacy risk because Airtostrong may relay information about the affected Web browser and the computer user's browsing habits and history to a third party.
Airtostrong may Enter Your PC Bundled with Another Software
Some computer users may install Airtostrong directly. However, the most common way in which Airtostrong is distributed is by bundling Airtostrong with other software. Computer users that have installed Airtostrong may do it without being aware of the problem. In most cases, Airtostrong may be bundled with other software (downloaded from online sources that are notable for including these types of components with the software they distribute). Computer users can opt out of installing Airtostrong, but since they are opted in automatically, they may skip the option. To avoid this, malware analysts recommend reading each step of the installation process carefully and taking advantage of Custom or Advanced installation features that may be included in the installer.
Removing Airtostrong from an Affected Computer
Once Airtostrong has been installed on a computer, it may be difficult to remove. In most cases, computer users may need to uninstall Airtostrong using the Windows Control Panel (the option to do so in the Web browser's extensions manager may be disabled). PUPs tend to be associated with other PUPs, meaning that Airtostrong may be installed along with other unwanted software. Because of this, PC security researchers recommend that computer users use a reliable security program to perform a full scan of an affected computer. It may be necessary to delete unwanted files that may have been created by content linked to Airtostrong. It also may be necessary to restore certain Web browser settings to their defaults.
