Adware.Mipony is adware that may hijack online searches of the PC user by replacing search results with sponsored links and unwillingly rerouting the computer user to unreliable websites with the content mostly associated with adware. Adware.Mipony may insert a plug-in, browser extension or add-on for Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer when PC users install other free software from untrustworthy download websites. When PC users install these free applications, they may also install Adware.Mipony on their computer systems. Once installed, Adware.Mipony may hijack an online search box on numerous well-known social networking or online shopping websites and substitute it with its own. Adware.Mipony may show unwanted pop-up ads and divert computer users to suspicious websites created to possibly earn money from raised traffic of the website and clicks on advertisements.
