HDVidCodec’s Dazzling Promises are Fake
HDVidCodec is a video plug-in that is marketed as a way for accelerating video streaming on Windows. According to HDVidCodec's marketing hype, HDVidCodec is compatible with 165 different video streaming websites and supposedly allows computer users to download higher resolution video faster than normal. However, HDVidCodec does not deliver on these extraordinary promises (which is not surprising considering that the type of technology HDVidCodec boasts to have is out of reach today or would already be in use in websites such as YouTube or other high profile video streaming Web pages). HDVidCodec may be associated with various other PUPs apart from SweetIM and, may be responsible for numerous problems on affected computers.
What HDVidCodec May Cause to Your Computer
There are numerous symptoms that may be associated with HDVidCodec, including the following:
- Components bundled with HDVidCodec may make unwanted changes to your Web browser settings, such as changing the affected Web browser's homepage. HDVidCodec has also been associated with the infamous Search.conduit.com search engine (a low quality search engine commonly associated with PUPs and online scams) and will attempt to change your Web browser's default search engine to HDVidCodec.
