EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

1search.io is an autonomous search engine, which would be all right had it not been for the mysterious ways in which it lands on whichever popular installed Web browser it comes across. Typical of all browser hijackers, the 1search.io tool changes both the homepage and the new tab page of Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome without prior notice. What is more, the newly modified settings appear to be fairly resistant to any attempts to change them manually. The features mentioned above turn 1search.io into a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) rather than the useful application it pretends to be, which is why affected users would be better off removing 1search.io from their systems completely. However, removing a PUP can be quite a bumpy ride. Even a full browser reset may sometimes prove ineffective, often leaving the users content with their new and seemingly harmless browser settings.
The latter is exactly what the user should not tolerate, though. Besides a mere change in a browser's homepage, tab page and search engine, tools like the 1search.io often perform some hidden, less-than-transparent activities. They may keep track of the victims' browsing history to tailor online advertisements to suit their interests. No matter how alluring those advertisements may look whenever they pop-up out of nowhere during Web browsing, the empirical evidence is that they contain all malware types most of the time. Such malware may include worms, Trojans or even Ransomware. Needless to say, the potential risk increases exponentially unless the user finds a way to uproot the PUP on time. That's why PC users are advised to steer clear of tools such as the 1search.io.
