The WinterWaldo software is promoted at Winterwaldo.com to deliver tons of fun on your new tab page inside Google Chrome. WinterWaldo is said to allow users play frosty games while they browse the Web. The WinterWaldo program may alter your new tab page layout and load a customized search service that offers links to gaming portals. Experts note that WinterWaldo is very similar to the Zaxar Games in functionality and behavior. Both products are aimed at users who like to play games on the Internet and are not comfortable spending lots of money on platforms like Steam by Valve Corp. Computer users that are willing to try out WinterWaldo are not required to pay fees, register on sites or subscribe to anything. WinterWaldo claims to offer a handpicked collection of puzzles, action, dress-up and more.
WinterWaldo is classified as an adware that may incorporate several marketing mechanisms and gather statistics about your online behavior. The collection of data may include your IP and MAC address, browser type, OS version, what extensions you are running and logs of your recently downloaded software, browsing history and search terms on Google. The WinterWaldo does not collect personally-identifiable information like your credit card number and social security number, but it may have all it needs to facilitate the display of personalized commercials on your screen. The ads by WinterWaldo can be presented on the new tab page of your browser, pop-up windows, and banners hosted on affiliated pages. You may notice the slogan 'Brought to you by WinterWaldo' on ad-boxes and transitional page advertisements. The WinterWaldo adware may load a feed with promotional materials from sponsors on your new tab page. Video and audio commercial may be played in the background by the WinterWaldo adware while you are surfing the Internet.
Extensions that are designed to block advertisements may be disabled upon installing the WinterWaldo adware. At the time of writing this, the WinterWaldo adware supports Google Chrome, and we might see new versions that work with Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Adware such as WinterWaldo and Triangulum may run from the Temp and AppData system directories, and users may wish to use a reliable anti-spyware tool to remove them safely.
