Description is another browser-based tactic that uses social engineering tricks to make users agree to receive notifications from its rogue website. When visiting, the users will notice that the page claims that it needs to conduct a verification test that the visitor is not a robot. To do that, users must click on the 'Allow' button and accept the notifications of the website.

This a fraudulent tactic as this page has no content and was only created to conduct advertising campaigns. Typically, pop-ups would promote untrusty pages, like ones having adult content or offering rogue software products.

In any case, users should never accept notifications from pages like If the permission is already given, it can be deleted from the browser's settings menu. Yet, undesired pop-ups could be a signal of a more serious issue, like an adware infection. Therefore, users who see advertisements from that page, or got redirected to it by their browser, should install an anti-malware program and check their devices. Adware tools usually have other hidden functionalities as well. Many of them collect the user's data, which creates a significant risk for the victim's online privacy.
